It depends upon the project permission scheme - specifically the Browse Projects permission. Any of the following conditions could enable you to have access
Set for any logged in user
Explicitly granted to Reporter. In this case you would continue to have access to all issues where you were set as Reporter
Explicitly granted to Assignee. In this case you would continue to have access to all issues where you were Assignee
