Is it technically possible to link 2 JIRA Projects so you can view and link issues types in each project - WHEN the 2 projects are in different organisations?

Ultimately when working with a Supplier we want to raise any defect / requests in one place and view from within both projects

You need to consider an addon for this. Check the Marketplace for apps like Backbone sync. However, to be able to view issue you will need to be a user in both instances I believe. The sync apps I think work on the premise of creating 'parallel' issues that are linked. So you can work on the issue in your instance which would update the linked issue in my instance and vice versa.

Hi,

The free Issue Sync Pro app can be an interesting solution for you to link two Jira projects from different organizations, allowing you to view and sync issues between them.

As Jack already described above, 3rd party synchronization apps establish a connection between the two issues on different projects or Jira Cloud instances and automatically copy over their data as fields, comments, attachments, or statuses.

If you want to give this plugin a try, feel free to download it from the marketplace for free or book a demo.

Best regards,
Kasia from Deviniti (the team behind Issue Sync Pro solution)

Hi @Caroline Brown ,

I am Dhiren from the Exalate Team.

I would recommend you to try out Exalate to achieve this use-case.

Exalate is a fully decentralized, bi-directional integration solution allowing you to create Jira issues from one Jira instance to other Jira instance.

It's completely customizable, scalable and also provides you with a Groovy based scripting interface for limitless flexibility.

Thanks, Dhiren

@Caroline Brown hey there. If you're open to the idea of an out-of-the-box solution, feel free to look at ZigiOps no-code platform. It connects and sync Jira instances in minutes and can be customized to fit different use case scenarios (like syncing  projects in your case). It comes with advanced filtering capabilities and does not store any of the data transferred between the Jira instances. Check it out and even try it yourself via our free trial.

Regards, Diana
