How can I create a report that links stories to defects?

Hi @Rebecca Seymour

My recommendation is to use a tool such as structure from tempo or eazybi to display the relationships. There are many other options in the marketplace as well

If you don't have any budget, the best would be to create a dashboard with a filter results gadget that gets the stories and adding the column linked issues. The problem with this is that it will display all types of links.

Hi @Rebecca Seymour

just to add to Fabian's answer, here's another app that you may like: JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields. It also allows viewing your issues in their hierarchy, either based on Jira's "built-in" parent/child relationships, or based on issue links.

Here's how this looks in action:

If you want to see it "the other way around" (bugs under stories), you can also do this easily. You can also easily calculate aggregations across your groups of issues, among many other things. (Disclaimer: I work on JXL :)

Hope this helps,

Best,

Hannes
