Local Host Change in Jira

Hi Team,

I installed the jira server version(http://localhost:8080/) and it was only access by me as this is set up on a local machine.

Requesting to make this instance to access in another location granted via a proper URL like https://elctestjira.com/

Even though we changed the URL from http://localhost:8080/ to https://elctestjira.com/ in General configuration<<Settings<<Base URL.

But, we noticed this https://elctestjira.com/ URL was not working.

Changing the base URL in Jira is only one of many things you'll need to do. Please follow the documentation we've linked above. If you still have issues, please let us know what reverse proxy you're using.

Hi Chandra,

You're going to want to set up a reverse proxy in front of Jira. You'll also need a DNS name set up for the instance and a CA-signed SSL certificate for HTTPS termination.

Here are the Atlassian guides for doing this using your webserver of choice:
