Looking for a Suitable Project Planner

Hi All

I would like to do project planning in Jira with the following minimum criteria:

1. Cross-Jira-Project planning (Program/Portfolio)
2. Indicate the Critical Path (CPM)
3. Display/Outline Issue Dependencies
4. Auto-(re-)scheduling: in case of changing dates of an issue will automatically (re-)schedule dates of dependent issues 

Now I had "Advanced Roadmap" and "Gantt Chat Planner" on my shortlist.

What did you choose for project planning? One of them or another one? Which one?

Would you share what you choose and some key points?

Hi @Anja Kornacki , welcome to the Community!

The features you mentioned are typically unique to “Gantt chart” solutions. While Advanced Roadmaps is an incredible tool for managing project portfolio, it lacks the “critical path” capability. There are some workaround like “issue flagging” or “issue link” that can be used to indicate blockers but that’s not exactly helpful to visualize critical path.

Another the option you mentioned is Gantt chart Planner, which I assumed you're referring to this app? https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1227063/gantt-chart-planner-roadmap-timeline-for-confluence?hosting=cloud&tab=overview

• Gantt Chart Planner is only available for Confluence as a Gantt chart macro - which extends Confluence for project planning and tracking just like Jira.
