Our account was updated yesterday and we have lost boards. Can anyone assist please?

Can you go to https://<site-URL>/jira/boards and check if the boards are visible there?
One of the reasons you may not be able to view any board is the board's filter isn't shared. If you have the filter name, you can check it under Settings > system > filter and ask the filter owner to add you as a viewer.
If the boards are deleted, I'm afraid we don't have a way to recover them. However, board deletion doesn't affect the issues it displayed. So you can create a new board with the same filter as before, and you should be able to view those issues (work items) again.
