Make Active Directory User inactive in JIRA

We have hooked up JIRA to active directory. However we do not all users in active directory to use up a JIRA licence.

Can we turn off access at a user level so that we can keep within the maximum number of licenced user accounts?

We fixed this by filtering the AD users.
