When a Bug isn't resolved before the release goes out, we transfer ownership of the Bug to Production in ServiceNow. In HP ALM, we added a custom button on the toolbar that would gather information about the defect, then make a REST call to ServiceNow, create a ticket, and return the new SN ticket ID and it would be stored in a custom field in ALM. Now that we have switched to JIRA (with Xray), we need to add that same functionality. We can utilize the "External Issue ID" field at the Bug level but collecting data and making the REST call is where I could us some guidance.

This is not a specific Xray question but it's more a generic Jira question.
For the aimed purpose, you can make some custom development using, for example, Adaptavist ScriptRunner app.
