Hello
Does anybody know how to measure and grow - Agile release train in JIRA??
I am on the mission to do that, and I have started to work on that, I get some issues which I am trying to solve with Atlassian community and google
For
1. Flow distribution - I have a CFD
2. For Velocity - we do have story points as of now for Velocity, but we are trying to measure via time period, I am trying to find right JQL
a JQL for number of completed work over the time p...
3,4,5,6 I will start working on it
Hi @Gaurav Pardeshi ,
Unfortunately, natively for PI it's impossible to automatically measure:
As for Flow Load, you can use the following expression:
statusCategory = "In Progress"
For Flow Distribution, Flow Velocity, Flow Load and Flow Predictability you can use the app I developed - Multi-team Scrum Metrics & Retrospective:
Flow Distribution and Flow Load were constructed using custom JQL. The app allows to track, visualize and report any custom JQL metric. Also, as you can see, it can be used to display several ARTs in one view (STORAGE, Network).
You can see average for your metrics:
As for Flow Time and Flow Efficiency, if you would use my app, I can easily add these 2 metrics to my app, so that you will be able to measure all the metrics in one place. Let me know via email or this form if you need this.
Additionally, using my app, you can conduct SAFe in-place retrospections, do drill-downs from years/half-years/quarters/months though all the levels down to sprints, and much more.
Best regards,
Alexey
Hi @Gaurav Pardeshi,
Jira gadgets and reports are pretty limited when its about cross-team projects (such as SAFe). My advice is to search for a plugin on Atlassian Marketplace that offers the necessary charts for measuring these metrics effectively.
In case you decide to try a plugin, your best option here would be our Great Gadgets app. It is capable to measure all the metrics you mentioned: flow distribution, flow velocity (for time periods), flow time, flow load, PI Release Burndown Chart with Forecast (flow predictability), flow efficiency (via Advanced Issue Filter Formula gadget).
See details in this article: How to track scaled-agile (SAFe) projects in Jira with Great Gadgets app
