Mentions show [~username], emails are fine

I've just installed Jira Core 7.10.1, and have set the "Browse Users" permission for everyone.

When I start typing in an @mention, it correctly lists the users full display name.  When it shows up in the comment, it's showing up as [~username] and not as @displayname.  The email that is sent is correctly showing the @displayname.

I guess I must have missed a setting somewhere, but I'm not sure what yet.

You need to change the renderer from "Default text Renderer" to "WIKI Style renderer" on comments field.

I am seeing this on some storys but not all and I confirmed that we are using WIKI style renderer for Comments.
