Migrating Jira from 6.1.9 to 6.4.6

we have JIRA 6.1.9 server and would like to upgrade to 6.4.6

-- can we upgrade directly frm 6.1.9 to 6.4.6 and

-- do we need new license for the same?

Just to complement Nic's answer, please find below the JIRA release dates. You'll need to make sure that your license hasn't expired before 6.4.6 was released (09-Jun-2015).

No, the upgrade will carry the old licence through.

Unless it expired before 6.4.6 was released.
