Migrating issues from JIRA version 3.0 to 6.3

Hi All,

we have an requirement to migrate JIRA issues/Project from one of our JIRA instance which is version 3.0 to JIRA version 6.3.

I see that there are plugins named Project-configurator and project import but that will work on same Instance.

Can anyone please let me know if there are any other approach through which we can achieve this.

Either this can be done from back-end using some sql scripts and through Data pumper tool.

Thanks,
Akash

Hi Akash,

Forget the backend. If you are not planning to use the 3.0.

1) You will have to either upgrade as Nic said or Create new projects and perform a CSC import.

2) if its a new setup , you can give a try to xml export from 3.0 to xml import to 6.3

That's a huge jump to do with SQL - you'll need to reverse engineer the entire upgrade process to work out what SQL to build.

Seriously, upgrade it (in a test system).
