Missing Epic Link field when creating issue

I've been setting up a new project with Jira Agile. The new look and feel confuses me though and I can't seem to find how to add Epic Links to issues. The field for it simply just not there.

I've tried all kinds of things such as adding it to the issue screen, changing issue type scheme, field configurations etc.

Is it just that the new look and feel doesn't allow for Epic Links to be made? Can I only use the Child Issues?

Child issues doesn't seem to be the same thing in terms of how they are displayed and handled in Portfolio. Cause there's no link made in there?

I'm just so confused by all these changes they've made and nothing makes sense any longer and there's no documentation for the changes made either.

Can someone maybe assist me to find some sanity here :)

Thanks,

Hi there, Victor.

I can confirm that the Epic Link field appears on the Create Issue screen and on the backlog itself as you can see from the following screen shot(s):

Some questions from my end:

  • Can I confirm on the type of the project that you are facing problem with? Is it set to Software, Ops, SD, or Business?
  • Can you double confirm the what screens the Epic Link field is associated to? Is the field added to the right contexts and the right screens?

  • What do you mean by child issues? Can you provide more context on that?
