Missing permissions for the jiraconnectuser

stefan@spielhaus-ftw.com December 6, 2011

Hi,

I just integrated JMC in one of our apps and while testing from the simulator I noticed errors like:

Request FAILED & queued item is not deleted. jmc-xxxxx jiraconnectuser, you do not have the permission to comment on this issue.

I added the missing permissions for the jiraconnectuser to the Jira project in question but I have the feeling that this is not the right way. Shouldn't this happen automatically? I don't know what else is missing since other features like comments (from my Jira instance to the app) does not work.

Thanks.

Hi Sorin,

Sorry this question slipped through the cracks. I think you've resolved this elsewhere however?

The jiraconnectuser is created with the default permission scheme for your Project. We deliberately don't auto-add create permissions for that user, just in case an Admin really wants to control that for the project. ie. if your project has a restrictive permission scheme, then we'd rather not override that.

Cheers,

Nick

I have poked around further and it seems that permissions aren't causing this. Apparently the iPhone app does not see new comments made from within Jira. To test this I added all permissions to the jiraconnectuser but still no luck.

I really need help with this. JMC version used: 91429104b57b
