I have converted the Issue to epic and its in the current sprint. I can see issue on the Sprint board.

But I dont see it on the backlog screen. i dont see any way to remove the epic issue from the sprint board. I will though convert the issue back remove it from the sprint and convert to epic again to fix it .

But its a work around.

Please advice the correct way.

When the issue (e.g. story) was part of the sprint, the 'sprint' field was set. After the move to Epic, this field is probably still set. So to empty the field you can add the field 'sprint' to the epic issue screen and then you can remove it from the sprint.

In the backlog you will see the epics on the left side panel and not as 'card' in the backlog list.

To my understanding, an issue (Epic, Story, Task, or other) will appear on the sprint board as long as it is assigned to ongoing sprint. You probably don't normally assign an Epic to a sprint as the Epics are not visible in the issue list in the backlog view. But in your case you had already added the issue to ongoing sprint, and it kept that sprint value when you converted it to an Epic.

So if I have understood your situation correctly, you just need to update the Sprint value in your Epic.

Another option could be to filter out Epics from your sprint board, but that's probably overkill in this situation. :)
