I need specific instructions on how to delete the Jira projects that I have in my cloud account.
They were created when we did a test export from a Jira Enterprise Server to the cloud instance. Which worked and now we finished our due diligence on the export.
Now months later we are preparing to shutdown our server and I need to do a new export so that the cloud has all of the up to date data.
What is the best way to delete all cloud projects so the final export doesn't have issues?
The most straightforward way to delete projects is to go to the projects list (Top menu -> Projects -> View all projects) and delete them one by one by clicking on the More actions button and then selecting Move to trash. After that, you need to go to the Trash section from the left sidebar and permanently remove the projects. Note that it can take several minutes for large projects to be fully deleted.
If you have too many projects, or if you'd like to have a completely clean instance to start with (removing workflows, automation, permissions, etc), something you can do is import a clean backup from another Jira Cloud instance, which would remove everything from the instance during the import. You can start a free trial account and generate the backup right after the setup.
Best,
