Just as the title says I currently have self-hosted instance of JIRA 5.2.7 with a lot of plugins. Any advice on how best to tackle the upgrade to JIRA 6? Last time I tried, the instance broke because of all the plugins in use.

Thanks.

Hi Michael,

It's a good practice to stop users from using JIRA and disable all the plugins (or Enable safe mode) before creating a backup. After upgrading and restoring data, you can migrate your old plugins or manually download new versions of them for your new JIRA instance. If you choose to migrate, kindly check plugin compatibility first. If incompatibility is detected, choose to manually download new versions then.

Cheers,

Andy
