We are considering integrating Jira with some other externally facing system.
One challenge is selectively sharing comments with the external system. Ideally we would have comments for internal communication and comments that are intended for the external system.
Is it possible to have another field which behaves like the comments field, but it is a different field. Alternatively, perhaps on a given comment, be able to check a box that says this is an externally facing comment?
How would one go about this?
Hello,
Have a look at Jira Service Desk. It has internal and external comments.
Or you can use comment visibility as @Daniel Deng mentioned.
Hi Aravind, I am not sure how you integrate Jira with your external facing system. In term of Jira itself, when you add a comment, there is a lock icon which allows you to restrict the comment to specific project roles.
