We have a business requirement where we need to restrict some application level groups like jira-users,confluence-users available while subscribing to a filter. Purpose of doing this is to avoid some confidentiality breaches where a user might provide subscription to a system level group and the issues can become visible to other users as well. Please assist Me in how this can be achieved.
You should restrict the permissions on the issues, not the groups.
When a user sets a subscription, all the groups which that user is a member of will be displayed (ie. jira-users.)
If you want to restrict issues from some users, set up project and/or issue level security. Therefore, even if a filter is shared with all users, one can not see the issues unless the have permission to.
