Nested navigation for a Jira plugin

Hello!
I am developing an Atlassian Jira plugin and would like to implement a nesting pattern navigation inside the Contextual sidebar for it. Like here, for example.
How can it be done in an atlassian-connect.json file? There is a guide on the Project sidebar page, but it only explains how to do implement solitary non-nested links.
