New JIRA updates - number formatting

Before I could copy and paste from a word document and the numbering scheme would be in tact after copying.  Now every numbered item in the list is 1.  How can I copy and paste without it overwriting the existing numbered list?  This is very time consuming to have to renumber everything.

Hi Melisa - if you highlight the list and deselect the numbering icon to remove the numbers and then click it again, it will renumber them correctly.
