New Jira License Key is rejected

Hi folks,

I'm running a pretty old Jira 7.13 and want to upgrade to the latest. As the License expired last month I extended my license but the Jira-Instance is rejecting the new license with error:
The license could not be installed.
An unexpected error occurred. Refer to the logs for more information.

I tried to add it via "Administration" --> "Applications" --> "Versions & licenses".

I even can not find a hint about the license in "the logs". Does anyone knows the precise path?

Is there another way to update it?
