New custom field configured and set default value for date picker but default date not working

Hi,

We have configured some new custom field and we have required every date as per issue moved from one status to other one. We have configured screen also with transactions and in custom field we have set field value as default date. But when we drag the issue from one status to other date value is coming as created date by default instead of current system date. For example we create a Epic on 8/2/2018 and when I drag it to UX design completion date as on 10/02/2018 default value of field is showing 8/2/2018 and for all status date is  coming even we have not moved the issue in subsequent status. 

Please resolve where we are doing wrong.

I am little confused by your question. What type is this custom field? A Date Picker?

And you want to set a specific date, when dragging one issue to another column in the agile board column view, right?

Yes and I selected date picker custom field and want to set default date when dragging one column to another next column.

Dear @Umed Kumar,

as soon as you attach the custom field "Date Picker" to a screen that is uses to view an issue (view relation at the screen configuration), the default value is set when creating the issue (even if you cannot see the field on create).

This is same for all custom fields where you can set a "default value". Even if you add an new custom field to already created issues, the new added field will appear with its default value.

My advice: Don't set the default value of your date picker. Create instead a screen for a workflow transition where you add the date picker. As soon as you change the column, you get asked to set the date. The 'today' button of the date picker dialog will do what you need.

We have configured all transition and assigned screen. Now they are working during drag from one column to another in a board. 

Can I disable it for a particular issue type. Suppose I have to call screen on issue type Epic but not Need on Story or Tech.Task. 

I have checked post functions and conditions setting but not able to do the required setting. Plz help..

Dear @Umed Kumar,

you would like to disable drag&drop for some issue types in your agile board?

• go to configure board - General Tab
• there is a filter setting.
• modify the filter so that only issue types are included, you want to drag and drop on the board.

Alternatively you can

• modify the Issue Type Scheme of your project (used by the board)
• remove the unwanted issue types
• this will not remove existing but prevent from new created.

No Mr Thomas, My requirement is that we have 3 type of issues, Epic, Story & Tech Task.

For Epic I have maintained 5 transition and in board there are 6 column for drag epic from one to other. But story I have required some of column out of 6 in board where I have not required configured screen (date picker).
