New issues suddenly appear at the top of the backlog... WHY?

Deleted user January 23, 2023

Hi, we've been managing a backlog where new issues would get added at the bottom of the backlog.

Today, somehow new issues appeared at the top of the backlog.

Could anyone navigate me to configure this behavior? I want new issues to be shown at the bottom of the backlog...

Thanks!

Additional information:

  1. This behavior is observed only to a specific user now. (it had happened to me at the time I reported this question, but not anymore.)
  2. The issue "history" shows "None → Ranked higher" as it got created
  3. No relevant automation process is assigned to the issue.

a new observation.

When creating an issue from the [Create] button on the header while you are on the backlog view, the newly created issue will appear at the top of the backlog.

Is this intentionally designed?

@[deleted] - you may want to check your board's filter query on the Board Settings if it explicitly mentions a sorting order, for example "ORDER BY CREATED DESC" or something like that.

Thank you for your reply.

The editor permission of the query is limited to admins and the query did not get changed.(and the "order by" part is "ORDER BY Rank ASC").
