New to Jira - How do I create a basic project and assign tasks?

I'm new to using JIra and I'm trying to do some basic things like setting up a new project and assigning tasks, but I’m not sure if I’m doing it right.

I’d really appreciate if someone can guide me through the basic steps or share a link to a beginner-friendly tutorial.
