We have an issue with some IE9 users. Since the OnDemand upgrade, when they try to use JIRA's Log Work feature, it just spins - the Log Work screen never displays and the page hangs.

These users had no issues logging work last week ... it only started this week; and it is just with some IE9 users.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what I might be able to do to assist these users?

Hey,

Since this is occurring just with a few users, there are some steps that might help you to troubleshoot this:

  • Try to access your browser in the "No Add-ons" mode, just to make sure that is not causing by a incompatible add-on or extension. To do it, you need to go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)
    Alternatively, you can simply run the command line argument:
    iexplore.exe -extoff
  • Also, can you check if the "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" box in the Compatibility View Setting is unchecked?
  • The problem persists when you access your instance by-passing the proxy (if you have one)? Try to access it by using http://<ip_address>:<port>;
  • And is there an Internet Explorer that you can change the configuration to the default one? You can achieve this by following this post: [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737#letmefixit|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737#letmefixit].

Hope that helps.
