Is it possible to set up notifications so as not to send a notification when a task is created in the backlog?

Hello @Lisa K ,

All notifications settings for a project are configured in the "Notification Scheme."  You will need System Administrator access to make changes to this scheme.  In the Notification scheme you can determine which events make a notification, and who should get those notifications.
