One team user can't see the Development Panel in particular Jira project

Help.

We have a long-time user of Jira who recently noted they are the only one on their team that cannot see the Development Panel on any ticket in their primary project.

They CAN see it on other projects, however.

Some steps I tried:

1. I checked the project permissions and he does have access to see the Dev Panel, in both projects.

2. I added the Dev panel to the issue layout

3. I added the Dev panel to the issue screen

4. I confirmed the Dev panel is visible to other users (I myself can see it on any ticket in the project)

5. I've scoured the web and Atlassian forums for a solution to no avail.

We are on the Cloud version. Can anyone think of any other reason why it's not visible to this user?

Hi @Tara L Conklin ,

Based on your description, they should be able to see the Development panel. Can you please provide a screenshot of "View Development Tools" for both projects? And what is the project role or groups that the user is part of for the project that they can't view the panel.

Hi @Yanty Ghani [ServiceRocket]  We were able to figure it out. Although this developer has been using our instance of Jira as a jira-user for years, it seems someone is not automatically added to any groups that match their role.

He was a jira-user but had to be manually added to the 'jira-users' group; which simply makes no sense.

I'm glad to hear that the issue is resolved. Yeah, normally, users need to be added to groups. The only time they'll be added automatically is when they were first invited to the instance. They would then be added to default groups for products that they are given access too.
