Hi,

Option to make field not required does not appear. I would like to leave the Summary and Project fields, is it possible?

Summary is a mandatory field because the system uses it *everywhere* for the human short description of the issues.  If you took screenshots of the screens that your users use the most and redacted the summary, you'd quickly see that the system becomes virtually useless as a tracker, because you have no idea what anything is.

You should always enter a useful summary of an issue.

As for project, that's not even a field.  It's a pointer to the container the issue is to go into.  An issue cannot exist outside a project, so "no project" is nonsense.

Summary is a mandatory system field and can't be made optional. As I understand, JIRA cannot create issues without the summary field.

The only thing and best option would be auto-populate it using the post-functions or listeners.
