Oracle DB Version issue

Hi,

We currently use Jira Software 7.13.0 and are planning to upgrade to 8.x. Now we found in the "Plan your upgrade" menu an issue with the Oracle DB.

We use Oracle 12c R2 (12.2.0.1) and a Oracle JDBC Driver (12.2.0.1).

The planning tool states:

You're using an unsupported database.

Is this because we use an Oracle 12c R2 instead of the listed supported version Oracle 12c R1?

Is there a known Problem with Oracle 12c R2 because it is not very new? Current Version is something about 18.x.

Looks like that is the case, according to the Supported Platforms guide for 8.1.x, the only Oracle version supported is 12c R1.
