Until December 2024 it was possible to create PATs (personal access tokens) which would never expire. Especially this would be convenient for a service account which maintains an interface from MethodPark Stages to Jira. Currently we can only create PATs which are valid up to one year.
Is it possible to create after December 2024 new PATs which don't expire? If so: how does it work?
Hey @Johann Schuster ,
unfortunately due to administration control and security posture tokens are forced to expire after one year. I have not found a workaround to escape this restriction.
The only recommendation I've found was to set up tasks as reminder to set up new token before the old ones expire. 🙈
Best regards
Noah
OK. Thank you. The reminders we did set already, of course. But it triggers additional effort and is error-prone if the service account PATs expire frequently. It would be good if for specific (service-)accounts the administrator could waive this one-year expiration time.
