Parent Link not showing

We are trying Jira Premium plan for our company right now because of advanced roadmaps feature. Now we have the following problem:

• We can not link Epics to Initiatives.
• Parent Link is added to issue screens and issue layout, but not showing when creating a task/userstory/epic.

--> Any help is greatly appreciated as I have tried everything I could find on google.

Ok guys!

It is working now though I do not understand why it didn't before.

--> I had to add Legends too (and not only Initiatives). Since I did that everything is working fine.

Did you add Legends above Epic or above Initiative?

Can you please let me know what you mean by Legends? We are also trying to mandate the linking of Initiatives to Epics but since the parent link field is not visible while creating Epics we are facing the issue.

Any input on how you implemented this would be very helpful.

My issue was resolved. Here's what happened:

Although the parent link was added to the create screen it was hidden from the screen. I clicked on Show fields in the create screen and then checked the Parent Link field. For making it mandatory, I used the Workflows since this is a locked field.
