Parent and sub task

Hi there,

We are recently new to Jira and noticed a slight difference on our boards that has happened over the last week or so.

As you can see in the screenshot the sub task has the parent task displaying which never happened before and our parent tasks our showing on the board when they never did. We are only looking for sub tasks to appear and we are not to sure how to revert back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Rebecca,

If your goal is to use Jira for the long term I actually would highly recommend not depending on sub-tasks to this level. Sub tasks have a lot of limits, they are really meant to just be a checklist of a parent issue. 

If you are depending on them for actual work I would suggest making all the sub tasks tasks as you will get better reporting out of jira over the long term.

To change how boards work though you can go to the board settings in the top right->configure-> and then go to swimlanes
