I like the new action items. That can be created via "[]" followed by a space.
Normally pasting text also applies its corresponding markdown formatting, but for action items it's not working.
Seems like a bug to me.
Also, I'd love an option to fully disable the WYSIWIG editor and go for a markdown only with preview approach, like Github does. I don't want my content to be constantly converted to html.
Agree on both points. The checkbox markdown ([ ]) not converting on paste feels like a bug, it works fine when typed manually, but breaks the flow when pasting lists. For the WYSIWYG part, yeah, it can be frustrating when it autoformats things you didn’t intend. I would love to see an opt-in plain markdown mode too, especially for users who are used to GitHub-style control. Maybe worth dropping feedback through Jira Labs or voting for related feature requests on the public backlog if any exist.
I found a ticket: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-72631
Already got 1460 votes, but it's not "roadmapped yet". Hope this is coming soon. If Jira wants to be loved by developers and not just product owners, this is a good step in the right direction
