Currently our Backlog board only shows issues that are "Open" or "In Progress" but does not show "Pending" issues. How to make those issues visible as well?

welcome to the Atlassian community.
Please navigate to your board configuration, to the section Columns. Here you should be able to create a new column and add appropriate status to it.
