I'm writing a JIRA server plugin and having a really hard time with ActiveObjects. The documentation is lacking, the ORM itself is very weak and cumbersome, key features such as transaction support are missing. The latter has been an open issue for 5 years!
I've had enough and I want to quit. Replace ActiveObjects with anything, even bare JDBC is far superior.
Are there any official alternatives to ActiveObjects?
How can I get a hold of the JDBC DataSource or Connection so I could use something else?
