We are upgrading our Jira Data Center instances to Jira 8.20.x wherein we will have the ability to generate and use personal access tokens. While verifying usage, I ran across an interesting problem. I am a Jira Admin but when I use my personal access token with the rest/field endpoint, I get a very limited set of fields (only 27) in the results. I thought at first it was just the system fields but it doesn't even include summary or description.
If I use basic auth with the same rest endpoint I get all the fields, system and custom.
I don't see anything about this rest endpoint changing.
Any ideas?
I'm having the same problem. What was the "user error" that you were doing? Maybe I'm doing the same thing.

Sorry but I honestly don't remember what I was doing wrong. Our instance is not permitted to use personal access keys so I cannot reproduce this problem any longer (even if I could remember).
