When I started using the Plan functionality, specifically the Sprint Capacity Management view of the Plan shown below, my sprint dates were overlapping. As a result, there is a lot of white space underneath my Delivery Team row which should not be there. All the sprints should be on one row only (Row A). To achieve this, I need to change the historical sprint dates so that they are not overlapping (only those in the blue block, all subsequent dates are fine). How do I do this? Many thanks! Carol
Hello Carol and welcome to the community
These look like completed sprints and I don't see any other way to solve this issue other than reopening the sprints from the Scrum board under "Reports" -> "Burndown chart" or "Sprint report" and change their start and end date. I'm not a fan of reopening sprints as this can affect the dates of the issues within these sprints. The past is the past and effective communication with stakeholders and team members about this issue is key. But there's a solution to prevent this from happening again.
I found out that setting the start hour of a sprint to 23:50 (11:50 p.m) will prevent gaps from appearing in the plan. This way each team can start their sprint before the set date without causing any problems.
Furthermore this prevents stories from not being considered as commited in the sprint (in the burndown chart) if the start hour that is set comes before the real start hour of the sprint.
You may also want to check the board settings under "working days" tab and tick the appropriate working days by excluding week-ends.
I hope this helps
Andrei
