Possibilty to split up hierarchy for an epic in a report

In my case work packages are devided into the following hierarchy:

Epic
One or more stories
Tasks
Sub-tasks

When generating a report and sorting on Epic is it then possible to see this hierarchy for each epic. Then it would also be possible to see the current status for each underlaying item which would be nice. How should the query be stated in order to see this?

May I be so bold to recommend our app - Structure for Jira - for this purpose? It allows displaying and building any kind of hierarchy supported by Jira's links. Here is a demo for some basic features of Structure. Also, you can try it in our sandbox environment.
