We are interested in starting to use Jira/Greenhopper as main tool for project management support for our Scrum Teams. Right now, we are using CA Clarity Project Portfolio Management solution for our project and we intend to keep it as a main system.
Could you please shortly clarify how the situation looks like regarding the possible connection between CA Clarity and Jira/Greenhopper and is it possible if needed to integrate those tools?
Many thanks in advance!
Kind Regards,
Konrad
There is no plugin at plugin exchange that can provide required connection between CA Clarity and Jira/Greenhopper. The Jira is highly customizable and provides rich set of abilities for export or retrieve data about projects and etc. via SOAP or REST API. The Connection between services (synchronization) can be implemented if CA Clarity has similiar integration possibilities.
Hence, if you need such connection between tools Jira allows that, but you need ask CA if their tools can be integrated.
Hello Konrad;
We are collaborating with a customer who has Clarity and JIRA/GREENHOPPER. Now we are discussing the integration level between both solutions. The project-level information created within Clarity has no a direct mapping with JIRA so we are starting to test with our plugin Profields 2.0. With profields you can create Project-level attributes and get the info from external sources/tables.
Even we would keep you updated with the evolution of this project. We will define the integration level along these days and then we will test if Profields can connect with Clarity Stored information. Also, we can create some intermediate tables: Clarity-Tables-Profields/JIRA. that way Clarity can send this info and Profields update the internal project-level data (you can define in Profields a kind of synchronization with external tables and update the info if the external table info changes).
Feel fee to go on with the discussion or contact with us. At least to be up-to-date about this project.
Regards

I attended a Clarity demo and they do integrate with Jira, but with their Agile Vision product (agile projects). Quality Center integrates with Clarity (waterfall projects). I am looking into Jira/Greenhopper integrating with Clarity as this is what we use for resource demand and PMO activities.
