Possible to restrict creation of certain issue type to a certain group?

Hello,

Is it possible to restrict creation of certain issue types to members of a certain group? Ex. I would like bugs to only be able to be opened by members of the "developers" group.

All the work arounds have their own problems. We found separating the issue types into different projects was the easiest and least confusing solution.

Not possible. There workarounds discussed on this issue which might work for you.

What is Atlassian's philosophy on this? Are they dead-set against ever allowing this? If so, why? If not, can we expect this at some point in the future?
