Hello

Does JIRA Provide a field that I can create/review and discuss post mortem reports based on a case?

I think your problem lies in the terminolgy and from that confussion you're approaching the situation in a less than optimal way...

A "field" is used to store a value, whatever it may be. You can create a lot of custom fields for anything you want. In principle a field won't keep track of a discussion between people (even though you could in theory craft your own to do it, but I don't think the effort is worth it).

What I believe you might want to do instead:

  • Create a new subtask called "post mortem report".
  • Create a custom workflow to assign to that new issuetype.
  • Create as many custom fields as you need to track everything you want to track.
  • Obviously, create the subtask hanging from the case you want to analyze.
  • Use the comments to keep track of the discussion.
