Private Projects in Jira Software?

We are considering buying a standard license for our computer science department to support our senior project. But I have a couple of questions.

1. I understand that the standard license gives us one "site". Within that site, can I create private projects so that students on one project can't see the board, issues, etc. from another project?

2. Can we have a couple of faculty members manage the "site", so that both of us could create those private projects, assign students, etc. It's okay that we see each other's projects.

Thanks!

Robert

Hello @RobertAdamsGVSU and welcome to the Community!

Overall, your understanding is correct. To be more specific:

  1. As the organization admin, you have control over user permissions to grant admin roles to your faculty members.
  2. Users with Admin access can manage project permissions and, in this case, create private projects for particular student groups. Here's a reference:

  3. For simplicity, you might consider creating a Team-manage project so that each project admin can set permission accordingly. Here's a more detailed resource regarding project permission: Manage project permissions

I hope this helps!

Cheers,

Linh
