Hi there, when I try to change a user role I receive the following message:

"We couldn't assign Site Administrator to <User>...

You've reached the maximum number of users for one of your products. To assign a role to this user, upgrade your plan."

I have checked all products and all are ok. My products are in the Standard/Premium plan and I have a user limit.

Someone can help?

I seek a solution in the Jira community but unsuccessfully.

Hi @Bruno Carneiro

This may be occurring due to Jira Service Management (or another tool for which you may have fewer users in your license).

If you add a user as a site admin, you give them admin permissions to all your Atlassian tools, and they will be counted towards your license count in those tools too, that is why you are getting the error message.

Some of the products have a limit of 3 people - like Jira Service Management. So if you have 3 people in it already, then it won't let you add more people to Jira, even though you are not adding this person to JSM.

So, check the license count for all your Atlassian tools.
