Hi,

Since last friday, I'm having issues when writing comments with screenshots attached to them, on our Jira cloud. Its not systematic, but I got a message "we couldn't save your comment".

The screenshot i try to attach got a name format like "image-20200406-001.jpg", which, is not something too weird. It usually worked before last friday anyway. There is also no special characters in the comment.

Normal attachment works fine for the same screenshot. I have no proxy, or firewall who could prevent upload.

Does anybody have a clue on this ?

Thanks in advance !

Hello,

we have the very same problem as described there. The OP is really nice, let me tell you my thoughts. WATAFA is going on? Am I suppose to work with such broke application? I have to write long comments with many images and what do you think happens when some of them doesnt upload? The whole comment is messed up.

I have to reload page several times to get images loaded.

And let me just mention that to write a longer comment is a work of hell as the interface centers the comment instead of what is above it. So I cannot scroll up to see previous comments.

You are a joke. Very bad joke.

Hi @Julien MANTEL@Ladislav Prchal

There are a few things you can check:

  • Attachment Name: Sometime characters in the attachment's name can cause issues - I'd advise keeping the names simple, eg. image1, image2, etc.
  • Attachment Size: If the attachment is too large it could be an issue. Cloud sites default to a size of 1GB per file. If you're an Admin you can check your attachment size limit at Jira Settings > System > Attachments

Try these two and see if this changes anything - you can learn more about attachment settings on this help page.

If you're attaching a lot of files, you could also check your site hasn't run out of storage - see more information for checking this on this page

Failing these, I would contact support and request their help - see: https://support.atlassian.com/
