Procedure for upgrading dockerized Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket to latest available version

Ravindra Ravindra September 19, 2021

Hello,

I am working on migrating the Jira, confluence and Bitbucket from on-premise to docker containers. For this, I am planning to migrate to the same version from on-premise to docker container.

However after the migration, my plan is to upgrade these 3 applications from current version to the latest available docker image version.

So is there any procedure/steps or documentation available for the upgrade, like do I need to migrate directly from current version to latest available version or I need to perform multiple intermittent upgrades to upgrade from current to latest available version?

Please confirm.

Thanks

Hi @Mohammed Faisaluddin Thank you for your reply.

I have checked for the link provided by you, however I am specifically looking for the upgrade steps in dockerized environments of the Jira, confluence and bitbucket.

Upgrade path of the jira-software, confluence and bitbucket to latest docker image available.

Could you please guide me where I can find this information?

Thanks

Hi @Ravindra Ravindra

As far as jira is considered if you are anywhere version which is 7.X then you need to do an upgrade to certain version and see that everything is working fine or not . Below link can provide you with steps and details .

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jiracore/upgrading-jira-server-from-7-x-to-8-13-1018788769.html

If you are using jira which is anywhere 8.x then you can directly go to the latest LTS 8.13

Note : It would be better to perform an upgrade with an testing instance and check for any issue before moving with the production environment .
