I have a kanban board where I have admin access to the board, and the board is displaying issues from multiple projects, some if which I have admin access to. I want to add a project shortcut to a confluence page in the board sidebar. This is possible if I have admin access to the projects on the board, but when I don't then it is not displayed, even if it was previous added and shown.
Why is this not enabled for all boards if you are the admin of the board? Can this be enabled somehow in the JIRA server settings?
Hi @Matti Larborn ,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
As per my knowledge, Project shortcuts are tied to projects but not boards. One should have Project admin role assigned in order to create shortcuts. In your case if you open the board from the project you have admin access you can able to create shortcuts but not from the projects where you don't have admin rights.
Please let me know if you still have any questions?
Regards
RK
Now I see. I was able to add a link if I changed the board filter to only include one project where I was admin, but when I changed back the filter to multiple projects, then the added link no longer displayed on the board. Now I tested to open another board for that project, and there I can see the link. This explains how it works, thanks.
It would have been great if it was possible to add board links, i.e. links related to the board. This specific board is a risk board where I can see risks from multiple projects, and the link is to the common risk classification criteria. I understand now that JIRA Software doesn't support links that are board specific. Hope that Atlassian can add that in a later version of JIRA.
