Question mark in parentheses changes to :question-mark:

I'm not seeing any way to change it back... I want a literal plain-text question mark in parentheses `(?)`, but I'm not seeing how to do it.
I also can't see the logic of changing `(?)` to :question-mark:... use either colons or parentheses for emoji's, not both. They shouldn't be interchangeable, or there should at least be a setting somewhere to enable/disable this interchangeability.
