Hello,

We freshly installed JIRA on our Server. The Min and Max memory for JIRA in setenv.sh file is 384 MB and 786 MB. Our Server had over 1.4 GB of Memory free. However After Jira startup, who 1.4 GB of Memory is GONE and we are left with 0 memory on the server. On running TOP command, we see that JIRA is taking close to 384 MB in VIRT and 1.12 GB on RES. Why is that happening?

How could we stop JIRA taking that 1.12 GB for RES and have it max 786 MB total. We are NOT having a single issue on JIRA at the moment and don't expect over 100 issues in next 6 months. So we don't want to allocate over 1.4 GB of RAM to JIRA. Please provide us exact steps with as to how we can do that.

Thank you!!

https://confluence.atlassian.com/enterprise/jira-sizing-guide-461504623.html suggests you need a minimum of 8GB on the server.
