Hi everybody, new to this. I was told that creating tickets through Api needs the top-level license and even if i get that i can only create blank tickets and cannot edit them through Apis. when i looked at documentation i found no such thing instead found Apis that are developed by the platform themselves given to end users through which they can create, edit and write comments on tickets, am i missing some doc that says i need to upgrade the license to do that in the fine print or something
Hello, @Syed Hamza Abbas Jaffri ! Welcome to the community!
You don't need to upgrade your license, I am on a free plan and I use API to create and edit tickets, custom fields, transition issues, and so on.
What you need is the correct permissions to performe some actions, for example, to add a comment you need "Browse projects and Add comments project permission for the project that the issue containing the comment is in".
Here is the link for the jira Cloud REST API with all the endpoints you can use.
Example of permisisons to add a comment via API:
I hope it helps :)

I think you didn't miss any doc. Just try to create & edit issues through REST API when you can do them through UI.
Goog luck!
